Getting an economic stimulus check and how to spend it!

More than 130 million families, including 35 million families across the country who work, but make too little to pay income taxes, will receive a rebate. I read that Sears and K-Mart are offering to help you stretch your check by adding 10 percent of the amount of your stimulus check if you exchange it for a Sears of a Kmart gift card.

The beauty of an internet marketing business is that it’s possible to start out with very little money and an investment of a few hours a week at developing it, while keeping the day job! There are some some similarities with investing in the stock market, in the sense that you are spending a little money and time now hoping that it will provide you some income in the future.

So I’ve decided to put my car’s brake job on the plastic and keep my stimulus check so I’ll have a little extra cash on hand… although it doesn’t take much money to run my internet business it’s nice to have a little cushion.

I’ve been setting up this Wordpress site for the last few days, it’s really pretty simple but anything new takes getting used to - I used Blogger for my other blogs - I still have to figure out how to add pictures!

That’s why it’s nice to have a little disposable cash… I enjoy learning new skills but sometimes it makes
more sense to pay someone a few dollars so I can concentrate on some money-making activity.

To-morrow I will present information about different methods of making money online.

How to spend my stimulus rebate check?

I’m having a high class problem!  how can i spend a 300 dollar windfall!
How can I spend my stimulus rebate check?

Well I can think of many fun ways to spend it…
shopping for clothes - I haven’t done that in a while…
shopping for shoes - I would really like to buy some new shoes…
taking a little trip to the Washington coast - gas - overnight cabin -
probably would only pay for an overnight little trip but that would
still be great - great memories - a change in outlook?

Those choices are not be in the cards because there are a few things I’m
struggling to pay so the question really is how should I spend
my stimulus check because that is my real dilemma.

I should use the money to pay down my credit card…. but my car needs a
brake job, so should I spend the 300 dollar check paying for that
instead of putting the charge on my credit card

That sounds very reasonable - my brakes are fixed and I didn’t increase
the balance on my credit card but have I made any progress? in a sense yes,
but the monthly payment I make on my credit balance will not change so
there’s no real immediate pleasure there, no real sense of having made any
progress - yes, I enjoy driving a safe car but I would have had the brakes
fixed anyway, so the gratification is in the future because of the lower
balance on my credit card.

The alternative I am seriously considering is to invest the 300 dollar
check in my internet marketing business… if I choose carefully I could
improve my income, but there are choices to be made between
investing in hardware or spending the money on marketing.

I will do some reflecting on that today and be back to-morrow to talk
about some of those choices.

What thoughts are you willing to share on the subject of spending your
stimulus rebate check?
